How can I cross from North Zealand to South New Zealand with a car?
December 11th, 2009 Posted by: admin
Are there any ferries that will take cars across the islands? I am interested in renting a car from the Auckland and drive down to the south. Is this possible or do I need to leave my car in Wellington and take a ferry over to the South Island and rent another car?

How can I add a few points per week or month to my credit score?
December 11th, 2009 Posted by: admin
I keep my monthly debt-to-credit line ratio to no more than 2% on each of the two credit cards I got. I have a habit of paying them off online a few weeks before the due date. Monthly, I also tend to pay down a few months worth of my student loans. The only other spending/paying tools I use are my check card and bank account (balance is always positive).
5 CommentsMy mom bought me a new car last Christmas. Of course, she takes care of paying the monthly financing even though my name’s on it. She pays everything owed on time or even little earlier. When checking my credit history and score between right before that purchase and now, my score dropped by 6 points and 3 inquiries were made. First, by the dealership. Second, by the bank they’re doing the financing through. Third, by mom’s bank because she signed up to get a quote on what APR we’ll pay them at if we agree to have them consolidate the car financing. My guess is 2 points deducted for each inquiry made?
Oh yeah I also forgot to mention I have a couple store cards never used since paying the first bills on them.

Any recommendations before I install my new XM radio in my car?
November 24th, 2009 Posted by: admin
I bought an XpressEZ XM radio unit for my car and was wondering if anyone had any tips before I go out there and install the darn thing. Looking at the directions, it looks like a pain in the ****.

Does it make sense to get a private school loan to purchase a brand new or lightly used car?
November 23rd, 2009 Posted by: admin
I would like to pay cash for a chevy cobalt. Not anything fancy just a basic model. Im a college student and I dont have a car. I need transportation in order to do internships. I am majoring in accounting. I dont feel that it would be a problem paying back the loan. I just need opinions on whether this would be smart.

What cars are the best based on reliability, re-sale value and mileage?
November 22nd, 2009 Posted by: admin
I am looking to buy a new/newish car (2007-2009) and I am wondering what some good cars would be to consider. My main concerns are reliability and gas mileage, although I would like a car with substantial power. I’m also worried that it is a waste to purchase a new car because of the drastic drop in value after you drive off the lot, is it better to buy a car a few years older with still some warranty left? I am considering the Corolla, Civic, Jetta (City) and Focus. Thank you.

A new car salesperson knows that he sells cars to one customer out of 20 who enter the showroom. What is the probability that he will sell a car to exactly 2 of the next 3 customers?

Sould you give refunds on used items at a yard sale?
November 19th, 2009 Posted by: admin
I sold a used Sony portable DVD player for 10 dollars. It was used for road trips, and then I got a new car with the DVD package. The portable DVD player was 1 and half year old and I lost the battery charger. I got it on sale for 50 dollars at best buy. The customer showed up at my home in the evening demanding a refund, since I did want to deal with him I gave him his 10 dollars back. Did I do the right thing???

November 17th, 2009 Posted by: admin
I just purchased a 91′ Pontiac Bonneville, and I am planning on taking it to Savannah, GA. I live in Des Moines, IA. I was trying to figure out how much I would need to save just for the gas.

New car, unhappy owner?
November 13th, 2009 Posted by: admin
I bought a new car a few months ago and paid extra for a navigation system. Was told over and over by dealer it should work. Now found out it does not work in the state I live in (Hawaii). I feel they should take back the car. I would never have purchased it if I knew the nav did not operate here. I’ve been to the dealer several time and they keep telling me they are working on a solution and to come back in a week or so.
Has anyone experienced anything like this. Should I hire a lawyer? Or at least threaten to?

I sold car to private buyer and going to buy from another seller. Can I just sign over cashier’s check?
November 11th, 2009 Posted by: admin
I have cashier’s check for $17K from the person who bought my car. Can I just endorse and use that to buy new car to avoid hassle of having to get another check and the 3 business days needed for check to deposit, etc.?
