I need a car thats good. And i already know about craigslist.com/. I want like a car from like a police auction or someplace that sells them at great prices. Not some greesed up tacky car salesmen w/ those corny commerials.

I want to buy a new car. Will I get a better price if I pay cash or take a loan that I pay off immediately?

I am in a position to pay for a new car with cash. I am curious: will I be in a better bargaining position if I approach the dealer with cash (yes, those green papery things with dead presidents on them) or if I get a loan and pay it off right away? I figure that if I offered cash, the dealer might give me a discount. On the other hand, with a loan the dealer might think they’ll make some money on the interest and will offer a lower price. What do you think?

I am just trying to calculate how much it would cost me to finance a car. I have good, not excellent credit.
Down payment will be anywhere from 10% to 20% of the car price.

Anybody ever used an auction site to get a car?

I want to get a car (at a cheap price); I was wondering if anybody ever used one of these sites (specifically seizecar.com or gov-auction.com) I’m mostly considering these two. I know that car-auction.com only give you a list a websites to go and nothing else (which sucks). I was wondering if the first two were any different, you don’t have to go to another website to do your search and they would give you actual auction locations…

theres this 82 ss monte carlo for sale by my house for $5,000 and i was sondering if it was a little high. from the outside it looks like its just in fair condition some of the paint is peeling but i haven’t seen inside the car or under the hood.

Looking to buy a used car with a limited price in mind. Is it better to apply for a loan first BEFORE buying?

My thinking is to buy a used car from private individual instead of going to a dealership. Is it best to first find the car your looking for, then apply for the loan? Or is it better to apply for a car loan with a set amount in mind, and then have the money ready to go once I come across the car Im looking for?
