Should I Buy a Car or Braces?

okay at the beginning of February, I’m getting a check worth about 2,000. and my mom said if i was going to get a car she would chip in a 1,000. so that is 3,000, but a local car dealership sales used cars to college students and takes 1,000 off the price. so for 3,000 i can get a 4,000 car. the car would be awesome because this city doesn’t have buses/trolleys or any way to travel.
or i can get braces. i wanted something for my upper row because it has spacing. braces would be wonderful because if i had great teeth then i’d definitely be a 10. i am so low-confidence about my teeth.

i want both equally, because if i get a car i can get a much better job. if i get a better job then i can eventually get braces.
if i get braces i will have much better confidence. i have a low confidence.

I’m going to a dealer to buy a used car. The internet price is $20,995. Is it unrealistic to offer $19K? I’ve never actually bought a car from a dealership, so I’m trying to figure out how much flexibility a dealership truly has in their asking price. In other words, are they paying $15K with the idea that selling it for anything above a 30% markup is good? Or are they paying $18K with the idea that selling for anything below $20K is simply not worth it.

My dealer doesn’t charge a fee for state inspection; however, I’ve heard that most dealerships really try to rip you off when it comes to inspection.

Just in time for a new job at a car dealership, my car has crapped out. Its a 96 Taurus and I’ve gotten more than my money’s worth out of the car but now its time for a new one,
No CommentsI’m not necessarily set on a brand new car, in fact, I’d probably prefer a slightly used one. Anyways, is there some formula to decipher how much I can afford to spend on a new car? (Like for example when you get a house, they say you shouldn’t even allocate more than half your income to rent. I stand to make about 500 a week and my credit is so-so. What should i be looking to spend?
I’m not necessarily selling cars, I’m merely working at the dealership FT

Im currently shopping for a used car and I see that Carmax has had the car that Im interested in for sale for the last 21/2 months. Their ads online say “no Haggle pricing” Is that true, they will not haggle?
