What the gonvernment should do in this housing rent market?
March 27th, 2009 Posted by: admin
The rent housing price is very high.So the gonvernment put a maximum price in order that the poors can afford them. after putting this maximum price will happen another problem. because the demand will rise and the supply will decrease. So the same situation, the poor cannot buy a house not because the price is very high but because the demand is very high. So what additional policies should be required or what should the gonvernment do about this.Whe the gonvernmet should impose such a policy to house rents.

Government is one of the problems NOW. Government must stay out of private sector business decisions!!

In the long run, rent control hurts the very people it is trying to help. If I own rental property and my inability to raise the rent when my costs go up will drive me out of the rental business. This will mean fewer places to rent which means that people that want to rent will not find a place to rent.

First, the demand in this market is extremely LOW.
Secondly, the Gov has previsions in place… “Section 8″.

Rental properties are so expensive, because property taxes are high. An owner wants to make at least enough to cover all housing expenses.
And yes, there is Section 8 that helps “the poors” as you put it.

It is not up to you and me to supply housing for US citizens, it is however the job of the government to take care of us when times are hard, that’s what we pay taxes for, and not force us to do anything that would harm our constitutional rights to earn a living without interference from the government. If the government feels that there is a need to provide housing then, like their program under Section 8 and others they should do it, or build houses in the millions and millions of acres that the government owns all over the US but the government should not punish property owners just because the government don’t want to use their inventory of property or divert money from pork barrel projects to more needed programs, such as rental housing.
It is however interesting to note that if my opinions were taken to heart the special interest groups, that make a living in the various real estate industries, and that would not want the government to get into the real estate business would have a cow if the government did start providing housing for any one that qualified without the infamous waiting lists.
Therefore the $60,000 dollar question is: Does the government take care of the citizen first and the special interest second or both at the same time forgetting that special interest would claim a conflict of interest and that they would be harmed by the government competing with them.
